Honda and Acura cut prices on 2010 models


Honda Canada announced price reductions Nov. 3, 2009, on three of its core 2010 Honda products, effective immediately.

“Now that confidence in the Canadian economy seems to be improving, we want to keep that momentum going," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice-president of Honda Canada Inc.

"So as part of our commitment to Canadians, we have decided to create more value for our customers with a series of price
reductions on our most popular models -- Civic, Accord and CR-V."

The price reductions are as follows:

$1,000 – All Canadian-made 2010 Civic sedans and coupes, including Civic Si models

$1,500 – All 2010 CR-V compact CUV models (2- and 4-wheel-drive models)

$1,000 – All 2010 Accord V-6 engine models (sedans and coupes)

$500 – All 2010 Accord 4-cylinder engine models (sedans and coupes).

Honda Canada also has made price reductions at its Acura luxury-performance division. The reductions from 2009 Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices are as follows:

$910 - 2010 Acura MDX (which features revised exterior and interior styling, a new six-speed automatic transmission, and the addition of a power tailgate, a rearview mirror camera and other features for 2010)

$910 - 2010 Acura MDX Technology Package (which adds a rear entertainment and hard disk storage system, Bluetooth audio interface, multi-view rearview camera, and a USB jack for 2010)

$510 - 2010 Acura MDX Elite Package (which adds Collision Mitigation Braking System, Blind Spot Detection System, ventilated seats, 19-inch wheels and roof rails for 2010)

$2,000 - 2010 Acura RDX (which features revised exterior and interior styling, new 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and the addition of a Bluetooth audio interface, USB/i-Pod connectors, a rearview camera system and other features, as well as improved fuel economy, for 2010)

$2,110 - 2010 Acura RDX Technology Package

$3,410 - 2010 Acura CSX Type-S.

In addition to these price reductions, there has been significant content enhancement to the Canadian-exclusive 2010 Acura CSX. New for 2010 is the Acura CSX i-TECH model that is priced at $27,490, just $500 above the previous CSX base model with the addition of a number of features, including Acura's Satellite Navigation with bilingual voice recognition and steering-wheel-mounted controls, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights, HandsFreeLink bilingual Bluetooth wireless telephone interface, 160-watt audio system with six speakers and digital audio reader, and XM Satellite Radio as standard equipment.
